About This Spot

Stepping into Appalachian Grill in the heart of Cartersville feels like slipping into a warmly familiar mountain lodge, where rustic charm meets thoughtful Southern hospitality. The cozy booths invite lingering conversations, and soft lighting casts a comfortable glow that slows the pace just enough to savor the moment—whether you’re settling in for a quiet dinner or celebrating a special night out.

The atmosphere hums with a relaxed confidence, punctuated by friendly smiles from attentive staff who seem genuinely invested in your experience. It’s the kind of local spot where you can unwind in a setting that balances the simplicity of its Appalachian roots with an inviting, polished touch. Small details in décor and service combine to create a mood that’s both homespun and welcoming, making it an easy place to return to again and again.

Here, the kitchen plays a thoughtful melody of Southern flavors with a contemporary twist—a palate shaped by fresh, quality ingredients and familiar comforts. The menu flows from hearty, well-executed classics to seasonal surprises: imagine the tang of fried green tomatoes paired with a smoky mushroom soup, the indulgence of shrimp and grits enriched with layers of savory depth, or the satisfying richness of a perfectly grilled ribeye. Each dish feels prepared with care, inviting diners to explore a range of tastes that echo the mountains and rivers nearby.

Whether you’re stopping by for a casual evening or a more deliberate culinary experience, Appalachian Grill gently encourages savoring more than just the food. There’s warmth in every interaction, in the way the staff moves seamlessly around the dining room, and in the personal touches that turn a meal into a gathering—a place where local stories seem as much a part of the menu as the recipes themselves.

Appalachian Grill has something for everyone. Lots of options from fish, steak, chicken, and burgers. Service is always attentive and food fresh and flavorful. We got the chicken francese and peanut butter brownie for dessert. Comfy booths and cute decor.

We love this restaurant. Excellent service and food. The swordfish was perfect! We also loved the fried shrimp!!! I highly recommend visiting if you have the chance.

Omg, would have never expected such an awesome restaurant tucked away in this beautiful location. The atmosphere was rustic and relaxing! The food was amazing! That was the best blue cheese burger I've had in years. The meat is top grade A beef for sure! Can't wait to go back, as in everything in life, you get what you pay for!! Oh ya, can't forget the super friendly staff and great service!!

This is an awesome restaurant. My husband and I always tend to go here on date nights. Great atmosphere, bar selection, but honestly the food is just incredible. We always get the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer, and we added the portebello mushroom this time too, and oh my goodness. It did not disappoint. I got the 8oz prime rib, which was just incredible. My husband got the monte crisco which he gets every time and let’s just say he once again very happy after eating!

I had the ribeye with mashed potatoes and a side salad. The salad was delicious, but the ribeye was super fatty. The mashed potatoes were not good to me. On a positive note, it was very thick, juicy, and seasoned well. I did have to send it back because I asked for it to be cooked medium, and at first I received it medium-rare. I complemented my meal w/ a French 75, which was alright but more tart and bitter then I'm used to. It wasn't sweet at all and maybe that's exactly what they were going for but not to my liking. I don't have any real complaints. I wanted to try this place because I heard that Atlanta Eats TV show gave it a pretty good review. Next time I'll try something else. I hate that I didn't get a photo of my entries.

This was probably my third time here. Food is always amazing. But would suggest having an actual mixed drink menu. The drinks we asked for were made but didn’t quite hit the mark. But other than that again food awesome. Service awesome! Everything is awesome!

I absolutely love this place, the environment, the low lights set the perfect scene for an amazing dining experience. They have a great bar, with amazing house cocktails, the Espresso Martini was exceptional. For dinner I had the 8oz Prime Rib with a baked potato and it was delicious. I highly recommend this place, the salads are the best anywhere with a piece of homemade cornbread. If you’re in Cartersville and looking for a great place to eat, don’t miss your opportunity to have a great meal and a fun night out.
